Harold and the Purple Crayon

Based on the story by Crockett Johnson published in 1955, this movie follows Harold, a four-year-old storybook character who can make anything come to life just by drawing it with his magic pencil. As he grows up, Harold draws a door to exit the pages, which leads to the real world alongside his two loyal friends. There, he discovers that he has the ability to create many mischiefs and mysterious creatures.

As he progresses with his magic, Harold begins to understand that he possesses a great power that should not be taken lightly. However, the pencil falls into the hands of an evil villain who has dark plans that could be realized with that magic. Thus, Harold and his friends will have to unleash all their creativity to confront him and save both the real world and their own.

Directed by Carlos Saldanha (the 'Ice Age' and 'Rio' saga), this movie stars Zachary Levi ('Shazam!') as Harold. He is joined in the cast by Benajamin Bottani, Jemaine Clement ('Men in Black 3'), Lil Rel Howery ('Get Out'), and Zooey Deschanel ('New Girl'). Additionally, the film combines live action with animated elements to showcase what the world Harold lived in was like before his journey to the real world.
