Horizon: An American Saga Chapter 1

'Horizon: An American Saga Chapter 1' is a Western film starring and directed by Kevin Costner that deals with the colonization of the American West during the Civil War, 1861-1865. The story will transport us to the suffering experienced through the sweat, tears, and blood of the protagonists who fight for the abolition of slavery in their country. The scenes will offer various perspectives, from those of families and friends to those of enemies, in an attempt to place us in a real context of what was happening at that moment in the history of the United States.

Its cast includes a considerable list of renowned actors such as Sienna Miller ('A Challenging Future'), Jena Malone ('The Hunger Games: Catching Fire'), Isabelle Fuhrman ('Orphan'), Jamie Campbell Bower ('Shadowhunters'), Sam Worthington ('Avatar'), in addition to the star and director Kevin Costner ('The Bodyguard'). Co-writing with him are Jon Baird ('The Explorers Guild') and Mark Kasdan ('Silverado'). They are producing through the company Territory Pictures and New Line Cinema.

With this film, Costner resumes directing since 'Open Range', and as he embarks on such a long period of history, he has divided the film into two parts.
