Hunter Killer's reviews
Media reviews
El País
'Hunter Killer', prototypical film about submarines with a war film facade and political thriller touch, with an obvious short range, that even though, surprises for the election of its villains and de possible allies in a new moment in time of the international relationship between the U.S.A and Russia.
El Mundo
The best part of this movie is that it brings back the old submarine genre, with it dangerous situations and its tense decision-making moments, both characteristics of the genre, all with a high budget production that offers a brilliant spectacle.
The Hollywood Reporter
When the coolest thing about a submarine thriller is the sight of the officers stiffly leaning forward as their vessel goes into a deep dive, you know there's a problem. Although clearly hoping to duplicate the critical and commercial success of such predecessors as 'The Hunt for Red October' and 'Crimson Tide' this by-the-numbers military thriller chugs along like a submarine with a disabled engine.
ABC
The story is aimed for the lovers of the war film genre and the military strategy, but it leans to the brains over the brawns, even if it shows way too much "muscle".
Variety
Gerard Butler plays an American submarine commander in a U.S.vs.Russia thriller that drowns in ponderously out-of-date Cold War clichés.
