If Only I Could Hibernate

A proud but poor teenager named Ulzii has a goal in mind: to win the Physics contest. This prize would make his life easier and open many doors for him thanks to the scholarship it would provide. A scholarship that would allow him to pay for his studies and develop his academic career.

A goal that requires time, patience, discipline, and a lot of studying. A task he is clear about, but it becomes complicated when his mother finds a job in the field that will take up practically all her time, forcing the young student to take care of his younger siblings throughout the winter.

With this work, Zoljargal Purevdash tells the story of a humble family and an inexperienced young man who has to deal with a situation that complicates his task. 'If I Could Hibernate (Until Everything Passes)' is the first work of this director from Mongolia, who has garnered awards and distinctions throughout her career. The Tampere Film Festival, the Short Shorts Film Festival Asia, the Open Doors section of the Locarno Film Festival, the Chicago International Children's Film Festival, and the Oscars are just some of the accolades she has received at her young age.

This feature film was selected for the official section of the 2023 Cannes Film Festival and represented her country at the 2025 Oscars ceremony.
