Kaiju No 8: Mission Recon

In a Japan besieged by Kaiju monsters, Kafka Hibino, the protagonist, continues his work cleaning up the remains of these mysterious creatures. Hibino reunites with Mina Ashiro, who has become an admired soldier in the Defense Forces, after pursuing her dream of joining them.

Hibino unexpectedly transforms into the powerful Kaiju No. 8. With the help of Reno Ichikawa, he is able to hide his identity, but when an extremely intelligent Kaiju attacks one of the military bases, Hibino is forced to make a decision that will not only change his destiny, but that of the entire world.

The Japanese animated film is a sequel to the anime 'Kaiju No. 8', as it not only compiles the anime but also continues the story of its characters. It is directed by Tomomi Kamiya, famous for being part of the animation team of 'Bubble' (2022) and 'The Tale of the Princess Kaguya' (2013), alongside Shigeyuki Miya.
