Knox Goes Away's reviews
Media reviews
Variety
Knox Goes Away doesn't traffic in comedy ? or exaggerated reality. In addition to being a noir that holds you exactly the way a noir should, it may be one of the best dramas about dementia I've ever seen.
New York Times
Knox Goes Away" is, like its antihero, smart, unconventional and almost obsessively careful. Its unhurried pacing and mood of quiet deliberation won't be for everyone; but this low-key thriller resolves its shockingly high stakes with a twisty intelligence.
ABC
Michael Keaton\'s second go as star and director stumbles but rises again on the strength of Keaton\'s ability to bring his bristling intelligence as an actor to his work behind camera in this darkly comic film noir about an L.A. hitman losing a fraught battle with dementia.

Ultimately, one just gets the sense that "Knox Goes Away" is unsure of what it\'s supposed to be. On one hand, it leans into the chillingly gruesome; on the other, it wants to laugh at the grimness of its own scenarios.
Roger Ebert
It's a fascinating premise by screenwriter Gregory Poirier, one that is methodically and quietly built, but ultimately loses any grit, atmosphere, suspense, or emotion it could possibly carry because of a few narrative headscratchers. Even Keaton, usually a sure bet, doesn't land what the movie is selling.
