La buena letra

In a Valencian town, just after the Spanish Civil War, Ana tries to survive as best as she can with her family. In a country where the Civil War has left a weakened and fragmented society, her brother-in-law Antonio is one of the people being monitored by the new power established in our country. Ana tries to care for her family through rich stews, silences, and secrets, but when Isabel, her new relative married to Antonio, enters her life and home, her figure becomes somewhat less authorized, distancing her from receiving any reward.

'La buena letra' is based on the book of the same name by Rafael Chirbes. The Sevillian director Celia Rico Clavenillo is in charge of adapting and directing this story. Loreto Mauleón, Enric Auquer, Roger Casamajor, Ana Rujas, Sofía Puerta, Teresa Lozano, Gloria March, Rosana Espinós, Vicente Genovés, Juansa Lloret, Ada Tormo, Mario Cerro, César Tormo, Gema Ros, Dolores Pascual, Mateo Jurado, Caterina Giorgi, and José Alfonso Delhom star in this feature film, which, along with 'Nada' by Carmen Laforet, represents one of the great post-Civil War novels in our country. The film was presented at the Málaga Festival in 2025 and was nominated for the Biznaga de Oro. Ultimately, it only managed to receive the jury's special mention for best direction.
