La sombra

'La sombra' is a documentary directed by Argentine filmmaker Javier Olivera. This documentary that looks more than a personal essay, portrays the life of the director by showing some homemade videos that he used to record on his Super 8 video camera. After the demolition of his home, he blends his recorded images of his youth with an actual commentary of his reality creating in the documentary his own self autobiography. In the documentary, Javier Olivera reflects how was his life in the family home and also showing how it was to live under a strict dictatorial regime. He also shares his memories about his father Héctor Olivera, an icon during the golden age of the Argentinean cinematography.
