Left-Handed Girl

'Left-Handed Girl' explores the life of a single mother and her two daughters on their return to Taipei after having lived several years in the countryside. Upon returning to the city, the mother of the little girls opens a stall in a night market characterized by its hustle and bustle. This family will have to adapt to the new environment and try to make ends meet in this new life. In the midst of Taipei, three generations of family secrets are revealed after the grandfather tells the youngest girl, "the left-handed girl," to never use her "devil's hand."

It is a film produced and co-written by Sean Baker ('Anora', 'The Florida Project'). Shih-Ching Tsou is the other screenwriter and the director of the feature film, with an essence very similar to Baker's original films. The cast includes performers such as Janel Tsai, Shih-Yuan Ma, Nina Ye in the leading roles, along with other actors: Teng-Hui Huang, Akio Chen, Teng-Hung Hsia, Esther K. Chae, among others. 

'Left-Handed Girl' has been highly praised by critics and audiences and has had an extensive run at various film festivals, like the SEMINCI, the Rome Film Fest. It was nominee to the 31 Critics Choice Awards. It is distributed by Avalon and will hit Spanish theaters on January 30, 2026.
