This was Alex Giannini's final film before his death on October 2, 2015 at the age of 52.

Tom Hardy had a serious ankle injury during a fight scene in a pub.

(Charles Kray, Sr.) previously played Sam Ripley in Los Krays (1990), another biopic of Reggie and Ronnie Kray.

Reggie Kray later admitted to another murder on his death bed, that of Mad Teddy Smith, Ronnie Kray's henchman and homosexual lover who was portrayed by Taron Egerton in the movie.

Aneurin Barnard reprises his role as the photographer David Bailey from in 'We'll Take Manhattan' (2012).

Both appeared in different films entitled "Sucker Punch": Hardy in Sucker Punch (2008) and Browning in Sucker Punch (2011).
