'Leonardo: The Works' is the latest in Phil Grabsky's 'Exhibition on Screen' series designed to bring art exhibitions to the art lover's own home. This particular instalment intends to capture and analyse 22 of Da Vinci's paintings to mark the 500th of the painter and erudite. The documentary travels to various museums and galleries across cities such as Florence and Milan in countries including the UK, France, Germany, Italy, Poland, the USA and Russia with Phil Grabsky, David Bickerstaff and Hugh Hood, to offer audiences a high definition glimpse of some of the most iconic pieces of artwork in the world. The documentary also provides some biographical insight into the life of the painter to offer an enlightening perspective on his works. Through conducting interviews with art history experts such as Professor Evelyn Welch of Kings College London and Robert Hollingworth of the University of York, 'Leonardo: The Works' utilises the most up-to-date and accurate research on the iconic figure to breathe life into his paintings and past. Other works from Phil Grabsky include 'Young Picasso', 'Degas: Passion for Perfection', 'Michelangelo', 'The Curious World of Hieronymus Bosch', 'Painting the Modern Garden: Monet to Matisse' and 'Renoir: Revered and Reviled'.
