Lingui

Amina is a muslim woman who lives with her daughter Maria, a teen girl, in a Yamena´s neightborhood, The Chad. Her situation, wich is already delicate, worsen when she learn her daughter is pregnant. In a Country where abortion is forbidden and frowned on, the teeneager don´t want has a child. She tries to face to the religion an the law. Mother and daughter fight to be free. 'Lingui' relates the story of a woman who face to the religion for saving her daughter´s rights in a patriarchal and sexist society. The director Mahamat-Saleh Haroun tells us the woman´s subaltern situation in The Chad. How he has already made in other films like 'Un homme qui crie' or 'Dratt', the Chadian director make a criticism of his country´s social and political situation. The Amina´s rol , played Achouackh Abakar Souleymane, display how mother and daughter join for fighting to an unfair society against women.
