Living large

Ben Pipetka (Hugo Kovács) is a twelve-year-old boy who studies at school. He enjoys cooking and eating, but he also has a talented musical group. However, he suffers from bullying at school because he is overweighted. The doctor assures him that he is in class two of obesity, but he doesn't seem to care too much. Despite this, his life takes a turn when he meets Klara Laboutková (Agáta Tandlerová), a blonde girl he falls in love with at first sight.

Ben believes that in order to impress the girl, he needs to lose weight, as this way no one will pick on him and Klara will think he is normal and ordinary. Thus, the protagonist begins to try to lose weight. Even so, instead of following a balanced diet, he decides to eat less directly, which will make him go hungry. Over time, Ben will realize that what matters is not how you physically look, but how you feel about yourself.

'Living large' is a film directed by Czech filmmaker Kristina Dufková. The screenplay is written by Petr Jarchovský and Barbora Drevikovska, who base the story on the novel 'La vie, en gros' by author Mikaël Ollivier. The cast includes Sebastian Pöthe, Katarina Heinlein, Tatiana Dyková, and David Novotný, among other names. Karma Films distributes the film in Spain, arriving in theaters on April 25.
