Plot
Antonio (Antonio de la Torre) and Estrella (Bárbara Lennie) are two siblings who have always been linked to the sea throughout their lives. The former works as a diver; the latter researches the seabed and assists her brother on the barge where he works. Their economic situation is complicated, despite the fact that they risk their lives daily. However, their lives will take a 180-degree turn when they discover a stash of cocaine in the hull of a freighter in the port of Huelva.
Alberto Rodríguez directs ''Los Tigres''. The script, written by him along with his usual partner Rafael Cobos, is a duo that has won some Goya Awards and has collaborated on other occasions to create films such as 'Modelo 77' (5 Goya Awards and also 16 nominations), 'Grupo 7' (two Goya Awards), 'El hombre de las mil caras' (two Goya Awards) or 'La isla mínima' (10 Goya Awards). In this case, their project is presented as a thriller with an oppressive atmosphere, diving into the world of industrial diving, taking the vocation to the extreme.
Alongside Lennie and de la Torre, the cast includes Joaquín Nuñez ('Grupo 7'), José Miguel Manzano Bazalo "Skone" (a debuting Malaga rapper in acting), César Vicente ('Dolor y gloria'), and Silvia Acosta ('Fueron los días').
