Plot
Paris, 1963. Roland is the youngest of a noisy family of six siblings. Since his birth, a malformation in his foot marks his destiny: doctors assure that he will never be able to walk. But his mother, Esther, is not willing to give in to the clinical verdict.
Convinced that love can bend the course of the impossible, she embarks on an intimate crusade to reverse the prognosis. Through stubbornness, tenderness, and a faith that borders on obstinacy, Esther deploys an arsenal of strategies — including homemade exercises, traditional remedies, and fervent prayers — in order to give Roland the life she believes he deserves.
While the other family members oscillate between skepticism and exhaustion, mother and son lock themselves in a bubble where every small advance is celebrated as a miracle. But in that absolute determination, the shadow of denial also creeps in: to what extent can hope disguise impossibility?
Through an intimate and sensitive lens, this story paints the portrait of a woman capable of facing the world — and reality itself — to protect her son, and the awakening of a child who, between pain and tenderness, learns to walk in more than one sense.
