My Brother Ali

Ali is a boy full of dreams and hopes who fights every day to support his family in Somalia, even paying a lot of money for it. However, he is arrested in 2012 and enters in a prison in Ukraine, where he meets Paula Palacios, director and screenwriter of the documentary 'My Brother Ali'.

She documents in it Ali's journey over twelve years, so that the audience can understand his psychology and be fascinated by his journey. During his stay in prison, he openly asks Paula to record him and show his situation so that, hopefully, the President of the United States of America Barack Obama may see his message. Paula decides to record this documentary, distributed in Spain by Sylvadia Cinema, due to this kind of moments.

Fortunately, Ali manages to leave that place and land in the United States, where he will rebuild his life and his future with new friends. However, after achieving everything, Ali questions himself where his tribe, his family from Somalia, is. Ten years later, the young man sets out to find it once and for all, and Paula Palacios will go with her camera everywhere to discover it with him. Will these two friends achieve such a goal? It is distributed in Spain by Sldavia Cinema, which releases it in cinemas the 22nd of November.
