Labyrinthine and perfectly balanced [...] With 'Durante la tormenta', Oriol Paulo reaffirms his scenic virtuosity, but this time behind his images there is also feelings, something that was missing in his films so they could transcend as well as entertain [. ..] An exciting reflection on the sacrifices we are willing to do (or those that do not) for those things that are worthwhile and that lead us one way or another in our life.
El Periódico
Where the script shows its cracks and weaknesses, Oriol Paulo, with a solvent staging while distant, covers the whole of the necessary and dramatic content.
El Mundo
Is an emotional entanglement as elaborate, entertaining and precise as, at times, disconcerting. Maybe that's what it's about and even defects are part of the visual illusion.
El País
'Durante la tormenta'' is ambitious, is very worked with many subframes and details that end up fitting well. And, despite the fact that the last watermarks of the story are excessive and may be unnecessary, that when you want to be affectionate you become prim, and when it wants to be serious it becomes a little conceited, the film is seen with certain joy, has rhythm, good performances and an attractive delirium.
Cinemanía
This film is a game of genres, a pulse of three that combines the family drama (Adriana Ugarte is pure rage and despair as a mother courage looking for her little one), the suspense, house brand of the Catalan director, and a touch of fantasy that it works as a detonating of the action [...] 'Durante la tormenta' works the closer the camera is to Vera's watery eyes [...] It's a shame that that wistful look is diluted [...] between subplots that are not at the height of Ugarte's tears.
