Plot

Jaime Armiñán directs and writes with José Luis Borau this dramatic comedy that was nominated for Oscars in the category of Best Foreign Language film. The film focuses on Adela Castro, a mature woman who lives her days in singleness asking herself why not succeed in her love life. Unfortunately for Adela, her days spent in a provincial town where she should shave every day. Adela knows she is not a normal woman, so after spending some situations that lead to the decision to go to a psychological specialist to discover what is happening. During her visit to the doctor, she will talk about her love life and her strange physical attraction, Isabelita, her housemaid. The doctor will begin to discover that Adela doesn't succeed as a woman not to be unattractive, but something even more complex.
