Mi amiga Eva

Eva (Nora Navas), a 50-year-old woman, has been married for over twenty years and is the mother of two teenage children. During a work trip to Rome, she discovers, amidst plazas and sunsets, a longing she thought was dormant: she wants to fall in love again before time makes it impossible.

Upon returning to Barcelona, she decides to break away from the life she knew and embraces living as a single woman, open to the game of seduction, unexpected dates, and the risk of feeling vulnerable once more. In the film, we will follow her journey over the course of a year: meetings that turn into discoveries, friendships that support her, and challenges that test her.

This process, filled with sweet and bitter moments, becomes an emotional journey in which the protagonist explores her identity beyond the roles of wife and mother, daring to listen to her own desires, without filters or concessions.

Directed by Cesc Gay, with a script by Gay himself and Eduard Solà, this comedy is about the courage to seek a feeling that seemed unattainable, and how chance, that whimsical force, can forever alter the life of a woman who, at last, allows herself to choose, even if it means leaving behind everything she once knew.

'Mi amiga Eva' premieres in theaters on September 19.
