My name is Violeta

This documentary centers on the life of Violeta, a 11-years-old girl who wasn't always like that: she was born as a boy. At 6 years, she decided to tell her parents that she wanted to dress like a girl and be called Violeta. They, after the initial shock, decided to accompanied her in this difficult journey where the transfobic society tries to put peddles on her way.

Although Violeta and her family are the main center in the story in this complicated process through adulthood, they will be accompanied by people like her that has been through that, they are what she must expect from the society and her prejuicies. However, despite all this real cases that shows the suffering, the documentary also shows how Spain is growing up in tolerance levels, and that is a reason to smile.
