Zequi, a reformed ex-con, is engaged and about to be married to the uptight and nerdy Lucy, a high school teacher. Zequi promises Lucy that he won't touch any alcohol at his bachelor's party, but when he breaks his promise and ruins everything, she calls the wedding off.

Zequi has to try to win Lucy back all while he trains the high school volley ball team for a competition, in which the opposing team is being coached by Lucy's other ex-boyfriend, the attractive and smooth-talking Mario. Zequi's team must win the competition, not only to win Lucy's heart back and to prove his worth next to Mario, but also to save Frida High School from ruin.
