Plot
'No Shade' is a feature film written and directed by Clare Anyian-Osigwe. The plot is about Gemma and Danny, two friends who find out they have feelings for each other after 10 years of friendship. Gemma is a proffesional freelance photographer who has to deal with personal and proffesional challenges that will show the only thing that separates her from happiness is her own conception of beaty and skin tone.
Jade Asha is the main character of the film, she plays Gemma and Lonyo Engele plays her friend-soulmate Danny. Another member of the cast are Judith Jacob, Shone Romulus, Verónica Jean Trickett, Adele Oni and Sharea Samuels along others.
A film about how can prejudices affect our personal identity construction and the relationship we make with another people. 'No Shade' has won the prize to Best Direction at African Diaspora Film Festival(ADIFF) in NY.
