Plot
Phil, a robust middle-aged man, suffers a stroke that causes him to lose his memory. Millie, the woman who takes care of him, cheats on him and tells him that before his accident, they were secretly in love. How far can we go in the name of love?
'Nobody Has to Know' is the result of a co-production between France, Belgium and the United Kingdom. It was produced by Versus Production (Belgium) in collaboration with Playtime (France), Prime Time (Belgium) and Barry Crerar (UK). It will be distributed by Vercine in Spain.
The film was directed by Bouli Lanners ('Les géants') and Tim Mielants ('The Responder'). The screenplay was written by Stéphane Malandrin and Bouli Lanners himself.
The cast is also led by Bouli Lanners as Phil, along with Michelle Fairley ('Game of Thrones') as Millie. The rest of the cast is completed by Therese Bradley ('Peaky Blinders'), Julian Glover ('Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade'), Clovis Cornillac ('Asterix at the Olympic Games'), Donald Douglas ('Bridget Jones's Diary') Cal MacAninch ('Downtown Abbey') and Andrew Still.
The film was shot on the Isle of Lewis (Scotland). It received the Best Actor award for Bouli Lanners at the Chicago International Film Festival, as well as a Best Feature nomination. It also won the Grand Prix du Jury at the La Roche-sur-Yon International Film Festival.
