Plot
This documentary shows almost two hours of never-before-seen footage of one of the world's most famous dancers, Rudolf Nureyev, as it recounts the story of his life as one of the greatest male ballet dancers of all time. The film follows his move from Russia to the West at the height of the Cold War and explores the consequent tragedy of never being able to see his mother, despite being the absolute star of the stage. The documentary includes interviews from those who knew Nureyev pretty well, and dance sequences choreographed by the famous Russel Maliphant to aid with the storytelling, a story that goes beyond Russians borders at the time to seeing him become a total pop icon of his time.
