Nyad

This feature film aims to manifest excellence in the tenacity, friendship and victory of the human spirit. Nyad' chronicles the impressive chapter in the life of world-class athlete Diana Nyad. Thirty years after abandoning long-distance swimming to pursue a prominent career in sports journalism, Nyad sets out at age 60 to fulfill the dream that so eluded her as a young woman: "the Everest of swimming."

This event subjects swimmers to a 180 km crossing between Cuba and Florida, and Diana Nyad intends to be the first person to achieve it without being protected by a shark cage. With a dream and a goal to achieve, the swimmer sets out on her exciting new four-year adventure accompanied by her coach and close friend Bonnie Stoll. In addition, a dedicated team will accompany her on her expedition.

Directors Elizabeth Chai Vasarhelyi Chai and Jimmy Chin, whose work has been rewarded with Oscars ('Free Solo', 'Rescue in the Deep'), leave aside their role as documentary filmmakers and make their debut in the film industry with this feature film of overcoming.

The film stars Jodie Foster, Rhys Ifans, Annette Bening, Anna Harriette Pittman and Erica Cho among others. 'Nyad' is produced by Black Bear Pictures, Mad Chance, SPGE Entertainment and Zurich Avenue.
