Off the Rails

A group of British middle-aged friends has to travel across Europe to Palma de Mallorca. This is the second time they make this trip: it was the excursion they took after finishing university, traveling by interrail for a month across the continent. The end of the journey was the Cathedral of Santa Maria in Palma de Mallorca, but when they arrived, they missed the Festival of Light. To make up for it, they promised to repeat the experience later, but that never happened.

The death of one of them, Anna, will lead the three survivors, Kate (Jenny Seagrove), Liz (Sally Phillips), and Cassie (Kelly Preston), to embark on the promised trip. They do it at Anna's request, but she leaves them a message to take her 17-year-old daughter, Maddie (Elizabeth Dormer-Phillips), with them. The journey will not be easy: they only have five days to reach Mallorca and see the Candelaria festival, which is held annually. They will face several obstacles, such as losing their passports, a train strike, and unexpected romantic entanglements.

'The Trip of Their Lives' is the feature film directorial debut of Jules Williamson, based on her real-life experiences. The screenplay is written by actor Jordan Waller.
