Info

Plot

Anabel Rodríguez Ríos directs the documentary feature 'Once Upon a Time in Venezuela', a portrait of the change that the country has lived through one of its little towns. The film, which opened at the Sundance Film Festival, uses Congo Mirador, a floating village next to Lake Maracaibo, as the example of how corruption and climate change have shaped the country. It focuses on two women: Miss Tamara, a representative of the party in the town, and Natalie, a teacher with the exact oposite ideology. 'Once Upon a Time in Venezuela' shows a once beautiful place that now is more and more empty. The film also went to the Festival de Málaga, the Festival Tribeca, IDFA, and CPH DOX.
