Plot

'The Roar of the Flames' (Only on Earth) is a documentary film with a great sensory and visual impact. It is set in an extremely hot summer in Galicia, marked by drought and wildfires that are impossible to extinguish, burning the fields for days without respite. The mountains of southern Galicia reveal themselves as one of the most vulnerable areas in all of Europe to this kind of events.

The feature film shows how kilometers and kilometers of wind turbines stretch out like white and giant ghosts covered by the mountain fog. Below, wild horses or "bestas," small and resilient since time immemorial, roam freely through these lands. These creatures are essential for preventing fires by eating the vegetation that is most flammable. However, there are fewer and fewer horses, and the Galician population fears their disappearance as a consequence of human impact.

The film by Robin Petré also explores the lifestyle of cowboys, which is now something completely anchored in the past. Alongside this, it combines the stories of different characters: San, an extraordinary firefighter expert in wildfires; Pedro, a boy who dreams of being a cowboy; Cristina, a farmer and great lover of nature, constantly in contact with it; Eva, a horse veterinarian and, deep down, the most authentic cowgirl.

All of them create the special atmosphere of this documentary with stunning and amazing images of Galician nature and its surroundings.
