David is a gay twenty nine year old man that decides to go home to help look after his mother, Joanne, whom was diagnosed with cancer. However being back home is further complicated because his family is conservative and religious, and David's father refused to accept David's sexuality, even though he came out ten years ago. As Joanne's begins to decline, she decides to stop her treatment and live the rest of her life in relative comfort among her family. This film shows how each member of the family deals with grief in their own way.
