Paradise: Faith

Anna Maria (the sister of Teresa from Love) has committed her life to Catholicism. She devotes her holiday from her job as an X-ray technician to missionary work. When she isn't evangelising door-to-door in the less-affluent outer suburbs of Vienna, she endures self-flagellation and hosts cult-like prayer groups. Her relationship with Jesus is even more intimate than that with her Egyptian Muslim crippled husband, Nabil, returning after a lengthy absence, causing escalating tension between the pair.
