Please Give

An old woman, Andra, lives alone in a flat in New York. She is unpleasant, unkind, and grumpy, and her two neighbours in the flat nextdoor are simply waiting for her to die so that her flat will become available and they can knock down the dividing walls to extend their own home.

Andra's two granddaughters, Rebecca and Mary, take care of the old woman. Rebecca is kind and selfless, while Mary is a heavy drinker. Living in the flat nextdoor to Andra's is an innocent and well-meaning couple, Kate and Alex, who sell antique furniture. They decide to hold a dinner for Andra and her two grandaughters as an act of kindness, which predictably ends in disaster.
