Power Alley

Sofia, a promising volleyball player, discovers information that shakes her life days before a championship that will define her future. Her scholarship to practice this sport for a year in Chile is at stake, and everything wavers when she has to face an unwanted pregnancy. She and her group of friends have a clear goal: to find a way to terminate the pregnancy. Most of the ideas being considered are illegal, but they all agree that this must be interrupted by any means necessary. Despite everything that is against her, neither Sofia nor those who care about her are willing to give up.

'Levante' is not only the story of an unwanted pregnancy, but also of the difficulties faced by those belonging to a lower social class with less purchasing power. It portrays friendships and their importance in the lowest moments, as well as the balance between ambition, sacrifice, and passion.

Lillah Halla directs a feature film for the first time with 'Levante'. 'Flemen' will be her second film, which is currently in development. The Brazilian filmmaker has a background that includes her short film 'Menarca,' which is known because it was one of the ten selected in the Critics' Week at the Cannes Film Festival and was also acquired by Canal+ and MUBI.
