Power in Our Hands

Documentary directed by Angela Spielsinger in which the struggle of the community of deaf people in the UK is shown. This film delves into the history of the British Deaf Association, which celebrates its 125th anniversary. An interesting document filled with footage showing the evolution of social rights, the exclusion which lived the deaf and the beginning of political activism of the group and led them to protest and demand that their demands are heard. But above all, the documentary aims to show how Spielsinger day several members of their community, they and their families and how the word Deaf (with capital letters D) may be a perfectly acceptable cultural identity live day.
