Plot
1966. The Spanish Army builds a cemetery with 5000 graves in Burgos for the final sequence of Sergio Leone's 1966 'The Good the Bad and the Ugly'. The place was abandoned for 49 years, with nature covering every tomb. In October 2015, a small group of movie fans go to the place with the intention of digging in order to bring back to life the mythical cemetery of Sad Hill. For months, after the news spread, people from all parts of Europe goes every weekend to take part in the reconstruction of the place. 'Sad Hill Unearthed' explores the dreams and motivations of the fans, but also the way in which art and culture touch people until it becomes an experience of searching and personal transcendence, being able to even substitute religion.
