Sentimental

Cesc Gay writes and directs this film adaptation of his first play, 'Los vecinos de arriba', a success on stage both in our country and in Argentina, Chile, Portugal, Colombia, and Mexico.

'Sentimental' tells the story of a couple, Julio and Ana, who have been together for over fifteen years and have lost their spark. In fact, they don't even touch each other and spend their time arguing. Perhaps that's why they feel such rejection and curiosity towards their upstairs neighbors, Salva and Laura, a younger, happier, and more... noisy couple. So, Ana invites them to dinner one night, intending to criticize their daily indiscretion... but they will encounter an unexpected response: an indecent proposal. One that will change both couples.

For this return to cinema after the success of 'Truman' (5 Goya Awards), Gay has assembled a remarkable cast: Javier Cámara, who works with him for the fourth time, Alberto San Juan, Belén Cuesta, and the Argentine Griselda Siciliani, who makes her debut in Spanish cinema with this role. A "orgasmic" comedy, as it markets itself, that explores the different types of relationships through an excessive and cathartic evening for its protagonists and, undoubtedly, for the viewers as well.
