Sonic the Hedgehog 2

The fastest blue hedgehog in the galaxy is back in the sequel to 'Sonic: The Movie'. After settling in Green Hills, Sonic wants to prove

to everyone that he has the makings of a true hero. The acid test will come with the return to Earth of the evil Doctor Robotnik, who this time is accompanied by a new sidekick, Knuckles, and together they go in search of an emerald that has the power to destroy civilizations. Sonic teams up with his own fatigue partner, Tails, and the two set off on an adventure across the world in search of the precious stone to prevent something so powerful from falling into the wrong hands.

The film stars James Marsden, Ben Schwartz, voicing Sonic, Tika Sumpter, Natasha Rothwell, Adam Pally and Jim Carrey, who repeats as Robotnik, along with new leads such as Shemar Moore, Idris Elba, who voices Knuckles, and Colleen O'Shaughnessey, who voices Tails, just like in the original video games.

Jeff Fowler repeats as director in 'Sonic: The Movie 2' with a script written by Pat Casey, Josh Miller, who also signed the first installment, along with John Whittington. Produced by Neal H. Moritz, Toby Ascher and Toru Nakahara alongside Hajime Satomi, Haruki Satomi and Tim Miller.

The movie will premiere next April 2022.
