The Book

The story of Verónica, a young journalist who is married and has a small daughter whom she has left in her husband's care for a weekend. She takes this moment to seek the answers she needs in her life. She wants to know why two of the people she loves most in her life acted in the same way, and she believes that to do so, she needs to dig into her origins. This is the only way to find the answers that will shed some light on her family problem.

Thanks to her investigation, she will come across a mysterious book that is bound and has scissors inside it. It is a kind of diary accompanied by a note explaining the steps to be taken before opening the book.

The young journalist begins her work, which she documents with her camera and handheld recorder. The investigation leads her to engage in an internal struggle against her faith while simultaneously battling against the book and the rules it tries to impose.

A confrontation between a mere mortal (Verónica) and the forces of darkness, all set in the scenario of an abandoned house in the middle of nowhere. All the events ultimately force the protagonist to take the book to a small chapel where the forces of good and evil will clash in order to close the cursed book once again.
