Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson reunite for the last time to portray the famous paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren in a powerful and chilling addition to the franchise that is breaking box office records worldwide. From New Line Cinema comes the ninth film in the Conjuring series: The Devil Made Me Do It. It is directed by Michael Chaves and produced by two key members of the franchise, James Wan and Peter Safran.

The story of this new sequel takes place in 1986, five years after 'The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It.' Following Ed's heart attack, the Warrens have retired from the paranormal business and are giving lectures at universities, but a chilling event forces them to dive back into the world of possessions and exorcisms.

The film tells the Smurl case, set in Pennsylvania, and is based on real events. It is one of the most publicized cases of the 1980s. A large family begins to experience strange phenomena that worsen over time, leading the Warrens to confront a dangerous and vengeful demon.
