The Devil's Bath

Agnes (Anja Plaschg) lives with her husband in a deep forest in Austria. The plot is located in the 18th century, a moment in which people were very religious. Suddenly, a woman is found murdering her baby. Therefore, the citizens of the town decide to execute her and expose her publicly as a proof that evil exists.

However, after the death of this woman, Agnes begins to feel bad: her head hurts and she feels more tired every day. Her neighbors begin to think that the wife may be under a witchcraft spell, so they will begin to hunt her down. On the other hand, Agnes has negative thoughts that tempt her to commit real atrocities. Is the death of that baby related to this case?

'The Devil's Bath' is a rural gothic drama directed and written by siblings Severin Fiala and Veronika Franz, the filmmakers behind the acclaimed 'Goodnight, Mommy'. The film stars Anja Plaschg, an actress already seen in projects such as 'The Dreamers'. Plaschg also continues his solo career as a singer under the pseudonym Soap&Skin. The cast is completed by names such as Maria Hofstätter, David Scheid, Tim Valerian Alberti, Franziska Holzer, Elmar Kurz, Agnes Lampl, Claudia Martini and Natalija Baranova. The movie is distributed in Spain by Caramel Films.
