The Fundamentals of Caring

Rob Burnett directs and writes this film adaptation based on a novel by Jonathan Evison. The film focuses on Ben, a writer who has withdrawn from the literary world. Instead, he try to take care of sick people after going through a personal tragedy. After training to carry out the work, he faces his first customer: Trevor. The young boy of 18 years with a rather peculiar humor, who suffers from muscular dystrophy. Both decide to embark on a journey that will allow them to break the bonds, both physical and psychological, that prevented could live life to the fullest. During the journey they encounter a young pregnant woman who has run away from home. Foul-mouthed and somewhat tawdry, she will help them to successfully complete their journey. All three will realize the importance of true friendship and above all, to live life with hope.
