Plot
Axelander Mackendrick directs Alec Guinness, Cecil Parker, Herbert Lom, Peter Sellers and Danny Green in 'The Ladykillers'. They are a crime gang preparing their next "job". In order to complete it, they start living with an old lady called Mrs. Wilberforce. They appear as a music band to distract her and have the chance to kill her. But their plot won't be as easy as they thought it would be. 'The Ladykillers' was nominated for an Oscar in the Best Original Screenplay category. This comedy won two BAFTA for Best British Screenplay and Best British Actress for Katie Johnson.
