The Light of Aisha

Aisha, a young and small girl, lives in 11th century Al-Ándalus, where the most famous and appreciated spectacle in the area is fireworks and pyrotechnics. This charming young girl wants to become a great professional in the field at some point in her life, just like her valued and admired role model, Master Hao. However, her family's aspirations for this child do not excite them as much as they do her, and they prefer that she follow the family tradition, which dates back several generations, namely the world of calligraphy. When Txawir, a wicked alchemist, manages to deceive the little girl to get his hands on a dangerous and important book that her father, Ahmad, possesses, her father ends up behind bars because he is unjustly blamed for the crime. It is then that Aisha, determined to free her father and bring justice to him, embarks on an adventure full of twists and turns so that justice can finally be served.

Shadi Adib directs this story written by screenwriters Xavier Romero and Llorenç Español, with sound contributions from Edi Pou. Michelle Jenner, Jordi Sánchez, Nerea Rodríguez, Toni Mora, José Posada, Elisabet Bargalló, Yolanda Gispert, Mark Ullod, Meritxell Sota, Alberto Mieza, Cesc Martínez, Mariola Fustier, and Mohamed Soulimane lend their voices in this co-production between Spain, Germany, and Singapore, distributed by Filmax.
