The Long Walk

In a dystopian America governed by a totalitarian regime, one hundred teenagers participate in a macabre annual event known as "The Long Walk." Participants must walk continuously at a minimum speed. If a contestant falls below that speed for 30 seconds, they receive a warning. Three warnings result in the immediate execution of the participant. The last one standing, that is, the last one to keep walking, is the winner.

The story follows Raymond Garraty (played by Cooper Hoffman), a young man who embarks on this deadly walk. Throughout the journey, he forms a deep friendship with Peter McVries (David Jonsson), as they both face the horrors and brutality of the event. The film explores themes of endurance, sacrifice, and human nature under extreme pressure.

The cast also includes Judy Greer as Garraty's mother, Mark Hamill as the authoritarian "Commander," and Charlie Plummer, Garrett Wareing, Roman Griffin Davis, Ben Wang, and Jordan Gonzalez in supporting roles. The screenplay was adapted by JT Mollner, who has emphasized fidelity to the dark and disturbing tone of the original book.
