The Most Precious of Cargoes

The outbreak of World War II causes conflict, death, and destruction. A woodcutter (Grégory Gadebois) and his wife (Dominique Blanc) live in a distant and isolated mountain area. The two of them are poor and they try to survive collecting firewood and working in their cabin.

One day, while returning home through the frozen snow, the woodcutter's wife finds a baby that is crying in the middle of a snowstorm, next to some train tracks. Someone must have thrown her there while passing by in an attempt to give her a better future. Given the situation, the woman takes the girl as her own daughter, taking care of her in their home.

The woodcutter remains unhappy with the idea due to the child's race, but he later realizes that she also has a big heart. Years go by, and their child grows up, meeting new people. Things change when she comes across the person who threw her from the train long ago.

'The Most Precious of Cargoes' is a French animated film directed by filmmaker Michel Hazanavicius (who has done 'The Artist' a long ago), who also co-writes it with Jean-Claude Grumberg after writing the 'Arcadia' script years ago. After premiering at the Cannes Film Festival, the film arrives in Spanish theaters on May 9, brought by BTeam Pictures.
