The Nut Job 2: Nutty by Nature

Andie is worried. Surly the squirrel and the park's animals live high up in the basement of the nut store. They have food left over, live effortlessly, and Andie fears they are losing their instincts and becoming lazy. But one day the nut store explodes and the animals must go back to look for food in Liberty Park.

But the evil mayor of Oakton has other plans for the park. The mayor wants to get rich by building a noisy amusement park in Liberty Park. When bulldozers arrive, Surly and the animals must resist to keep their home.

Then, when the works stop, the mayor hired an animal control squadron led by Gunther with which to solve their problems with the "bugs" of the park once and for all. To make matters worse, when it seemed like things could not get any worse, Precious -Surly's best friend- is abducted. She has been abducted by the daughter of the mayor, Heather, who has locked up Surly at his house along with Frankie, a French bulldog. But by the time Surly and buddy Buddy rescue Precious and return to the park, the amusement park will be fully operational.

Now or never, Surly and the rest of the animals will have to put aside their differences, unite and, together, fight to recover Liberty Park once and for all from the clutches of the mayor.

The film is directed by Cal Brunker (Escape from Planet Earth) from a screenplay by Bob Barlen (Escape from Planet Earth) and Scott Bindley (Madison).
