The Phantom of the Opera

Rupert Julian directs 'The Phantom of the Opera', a horror film classic starring Lon Chaney as the Phantom and Mary Phiblin as Christine Daae. The story, based on the famous novel by Gaston Leroux, takes place in XIX Century's Paris. In the basement of the luxurious building of the Opera Garnier lives a disfigured man who calls himself the Phantom, and who has built a legend that the theatre, built over a subterranean lake, is doomed. 'The Phantom of the Opera' becomes infatuated with a young opera singer.
