The Physician II

'The Physician 2' is the continuation of 'The Physician' (2013), the adaptation of Noah Gordon's 1986 novel. In this feature film produced in 2025, the doctor Rob Cole, after fleeing from Isfahan, arrives in London to share his knowledge of medicine in the 11th century. Here he will face the intrigues of a hermetic and complex Court, where he will try to practice his profession by saving lives. Additionally, his desires will also focus on achieving a certain desired recognition. The challenges will be countless and numerous for the young Cole, as we also saw in the first installment. 

Both are directed by the German filmmaker Philipp Stölzl. While the first featured Jan Berger, in this second part Caroline Bruckner and Stölzl himself join the team. Tom Payne stars in this new film, as he did in the 2013 version. In this one, the young doctor traveled from England to Persia, where he trained in medicine under the tutelage of the wise doctor Ibn Sina, played by Ben Kingsley. 

'The Physician II' has a cast featuring actors such as Aidan Gillen, Sara Kestelman, Liam Cunningham, Owen Teale, Emma Rigby, Emily Cox, Ralph Berkin, and Áine Rose Daly, among others.
