The Proud Princess

'The Proud Princess' tells the story of Carolina, a beautiful princess who immediately captivates the young and handsome King Benjamin with just a portrait. Benjamin, who is in the midst of searching for a wife, is mesmerized by Carolina and, to see if his feelings are reciprocated, sends her his own portrait. She, characterized by being somewhat spoiled and fiercely proud, decisively rejects him. To convince and seduce her, the king disguises himself as a gardener and sneaks into her castle as just another worker. In the vicinity of Carolina's home, Benjamin discovers that the young woman was once happy and kind. Thus, using music, flowers, and his charms, he finally manages to win her heart. 

However, things will not be so easy for the lovers, as Princess Carolina's advisors are seeking new suitors for her and promise her to a weak prince. Therefore, the young protagonists must flee and face countless obstacles that will ultimately bring them even closer together.

'The Proud Princess', a Czech-Polish production, is directed by Radek Beran and David Lisý. Both directors are experts in animation within the Central European landscape. The film will be released in Spanish cinemas on November 7, 2025, distributed by Vercine.
