The Sale of Paradise

Aura María, a young Mexican woman with a dark and conflicted past, receives an offer for a job in Madrid, Spain.

In Madrid, she discovers that the contract, the stay in Spain and even the return ticket are fake. Her world falls apart and is forced to face and remember her past full of lies and pain.

She befriends a local who manages to get her into a motel in the city centre. In this motel she meets the rest of the characters. These include Oswaldo, the co-protagonist, an Argentinian Orchestra Conductor who's obsessed with Tchaikovsy's Oberture 1812; Olivetti, a transvestite who decided to dress as woman when he became a widower so he wouldn't fall in love again; or the son of the motel owner, Andrés, who died years ago in a traffic accident.

In the motel characters both dead and alive live together, but we don't find out until the end.
