Tiger Stripes

Zaffan (Zafreen Zairizal) is a twelve-year-old girl who lives in a small town in Malaysia. The young woman likes to paint or put stickers in her notebooks. However, the daily bullying she suffers from her classmates is even more intensified when a rumor begins to spread: Zaffan has received her first menstruation. The girl, embarrassed, unleashes all her anger just like a tiger would do.

It is at this very moment when the parents and teachers of her school will begin to look for her for stopping her revenge. Anyway, it is already too late. A mad Zaffan will learn to live alone, excluded from her community for embracing her puberty without any type of prejudice. The young woman will learn to love herself while carrying out her final revenge against her classmates and other people who have dared to mess with her.

'Tiger Stripes' is directed and written by Amanda Nell Eu. The film has won several awards throughout its commercial career, especially highlighting the Best Film Award at the 2023 Cannes Critics' Week. It was also nominated at the 2023 Sitges Festival for the Best Film Award.
